4 years have passed. Its the leap year, or leap day again!
The popularity of this site first soared during this very special day, 4 years ago, on 29.02.2008. 4 years passed, and circumstances have drastically changed. My life has changed, and I’m sure many of yours had encountered numerous changes too. Change for the better? Change for the worse? Well, we can only stay positive and look ahead in life. Its a special day, happening only ONCE EVERY FOUR YEARS! To those who couldn’t care less, it will be just another day of 2012, or an extra day of work for the year. While you can make it special, if you want to .
On a side note, 4 years have passed since I used the Leap Year category for a post
It has been 4 years since I started my old site at wordpress… Although there are articles before 26 March 2007, I don’t regard them as ‘official articles’… In Jan 2008, I saw wordpress as a better tool compared to blogger, and thus switched over.
4 years. It has been a really long journey, since the beginnings. At the start, posting articles was a form to relieve all the frustration, all the stress, and some of my grumbles. As time goes by, I realized that time was not on my side; the many commitments in school made me left with almost no time to write new articles; even my time for sleeping wasn’t really sufficient. It was till last year end that I started actively posting up new articles again, and it was a change from “Personal” to more of “Community” Posts, especially photos about the Christmas Decorations in Singapore 2010. Articles related to Marina Bay Sands also garnered huge amounts of views. Then it was the Chinese New Year Decorations 2011 (Page 2). I hope my posts are of quality to you, and also hope that what I share is helpful to all of you as well. Do give your comments if you have any.
Few days ago, this wordpress site broke 20,000 (20k) views. Thanks for all your support. I hope that you’ll continue your support for this site. If you want to have a good look at the statistics for this wordpress site (does not include blogger site) since Jan 2008, look at the awards section below.
After this March, I think I would not have much time anymore to post as frequently as before. However, do come back this year-end as I promise (hopefully) to keep up with the 2nd edition of the Christmas Decorations Photos – Christmas in Singapore 2011! =)
Cheers!

Orchard Road is starting to look like a Christmas wonderland with those street deco up. Looks simple but nice. Happen to see Christmas deco also up at Jurong Point although Christmas is still weeks away…. Anyway, the festive atmosphere does seems to be nice =D… Enjoy. Will most more photos up as Christmas gets closer.
Howdy. There’s just 11hrs and a bit more left of 2009… Sad to miss it, but its true. As we move forward to 2010, here are the 10 things that happened in SG which I can think of. (and also in my opinion.=D)
#10. UNIQLO – Yay. Uniqlo finally hits the shores of Singapore. Result? People queuing up for hours just to get into the shop. But it was still, worth it. =D.
Its a long queue at UNIQLO 313@SOMERSET
#9. NDP2009 – Different from previous years, it was really an entertaining musical, and a really fantastic one. The songs and dances were cool, and everything blended well, not to mention the boom-bastic fireworks. Really, it was a big birthday bash for the nation indeed.
The boom-bastic fireworks of the NDP.
#8. MRT Extention – 2009 marks the opening of the Boon Lay extension and part of the circle line. Yay! Greater convenience and shorter travelling times. Not to forget about the new air-conditioned Boon Lay Bus interchanged which opened on 27 DEC 2009. =D

#7. Facebook + Twitter – Everywhere you see, there is a facebook link, a “Find us on Facebook”, a “Follow us on Twitter” link. Its on brochures, advertisements, websites, on the news, and on many other media. Welcome to the new age of the Facebook :: Twitter craze!
#6. MALLS – Numerous malls opened in 2009, in town and out of town. To name a few: ION Orchard, Orchard Central, 313@Somerset, Mandarin Gallery, Tampines 1, City Square Mall, Jurong Point Extension [Had its grand opening in March 2009]. Bringing in new brands, and more place to walk around. Singapore, an air-conditioned nation, a shopping haven, a dining paradise.

#5. Ris Low incident – The beauty queen hit the headlines with her “BOOMZ”. Even though she removed her crown, her popularity still soars high. Phua Chu Kang and the Singapore Idol had some advertisments related to her on Channel 5. She was inside the list of “Who mattered most in Asia 2009″ by CNN. msn Lifestyle recently even had an article of her own “Ris-tionary”, months after the incident.
#4. Christmas – Christmas in Singapore. The jolly atmosphere of Orchard Road lights up the festive mood. Its something I look forward too at the end of each year. Merry Christmas! =D

#3. Mas Selamat Captured! – This was what hit the headlines on a certain day of 2009. It was something talked about, and something that concerns everyone of us. It also enforced the saying that security is vital for the country.

#2. Recession – The recession of 2008/09 is something to be remembered. Mistakes have been made, and should not be repeated in future. It has been a lesson, as well as an unforgettable experience. We saw $big bucks$ flew away, companies fell, but the future remains bright. Recession is now over!
#1. H1N1 – H1N1, the deadly flu virus which spread through town, and took the lives of around 20 Singaporeans. Luckily its now over.
That wraps up my thought of 2009 in Singapore. Lets keep the memories of 2009 in mind and look forward to a new year of 2010! =D. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Lets end off the year with a video entitled “Never a year like ’09″. *****Happy New Year Everyone!***** =D
